Girl Child Art Foundation offers you an opportunity to participate in her forthcoming ‘We Believe You’ virtual juried art exhibition. This project aims to raise awareness against Sexual Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria including ending the silence amongst victims stemming from fear and stigmatization.
The project is a visual representation of ideas and struggles the survivors of SGBV in religious environments, schools, markets encounter, from the eyes of women and girls in Nigeria. Artists are expected to interpret the theme how they see fit. The art exhibition will be elevating the voices of women on SGBV in Nigeria. There are no restrictions on content, style, medium or context, but your entries should fit this theme.
We are now accepting submissions of artwork inspired by anything the artist considers within the theme ‘We believe you’.
We invite and encourage female artists to participate and look forward to seeing the creativity in your work. All local, national, and international artists, are encouraged to submit their works for this art exhibition.
Criteria for Participation
Participants must submit at least 2 artworks in any desired medium with details including, Name of artist, title, year of production, and the inspiration underlying the creations.
Works must be relevant to the theme of RAPE and SEXUAL Gender-Based VIOLENCE.
Entries must be submitted to webelieveyou@girlchildart.org from 21st September to 25th October 2020.
Entries will be shortlisted on 30th October 2020, and only successful candidates will be contacted by email and featured alongside their works in an e-brochure for the exhibition.
Artwork Specification
We recommend a file-size between 500kb and 5mb – saved as high-quality jpg.
– The image-width of large pieces of art should be about 1900px.
– Files must be less than 5 MB.
– Allowed file types: png jpg jpeg.
Images must be smaller than 5000×5000 pixels.
Indicate Title, Year, Artist, Width, Height, Depth all in inches.
The Technique, Genre, Edition, Price, Status, and Short Description.
