MENTORS

Our AFAMP mentors offer personalized skill development resources for emerging female artists.

The AFA Mentorship Program is designed to support the individual artistic methods and professional ambitions of emerging female artists in Africa by providing access to the skills and experience of selected mentors. Our Mentors are professional artists with at least ten years of professional practice(with extensive knowledge and experience with exhibitions in public, grant writing, juries, curatorial resources, and commercial or artist-run galleries is an asset); their peers recognize them as a mid-career or established artist.

“By mentoring female artists, we not only give them the tools to succeed today but also empower them to thrive in their artistic journeys for a lifetime, creating a ripple effect that inspires generations to come.” ~ Ada Onyejike-Ananaba
With 20+ years of experience in the creative industry, they are accomplished studio artists and practicing curators. Our mentors are skilled at listening and connecting and are committed to supporting the growth of emerging artists.
